Why the Mogollon Mountains?

In Phoenix you can barely see an handful of stars … up here you can see THOUSANDS!
We will be in a Bortle Class 2 dark sky area. You can really only find darker places out in the ocean and few fairly inaccessible places in the western United States.
When is the best time for the Milkyway?
From May 28 - Nov 6 you will be able to see the Milkyway just after sunset, you are able to see it earlier in the year but you will have to wake up around midnight or 2am.
You will need to work around the moon phases as well, the best days will be the New Moon and about 5 days before/after the new moon.
